The Covid-19 vaccination roll out presented a huge challenge to the Primary Care Network but WCF acted swiftly to offer wide ranging vital support. This included establishing a brand new call centre to book patient appointments to relieve GPs.
Throughout 2021 our teams booked over 20,000 vaccinations, provided physical support at local vaccination clinics, implemented and ran a Covid Walk-in Clinic and booked vaccination appointments for vulnerable 12-15 year-olds.
Patients for whom Covid posed a particular concern due to pre-existing health conditions were provided with Pulse Oximetry monitoring devices and our staff liaised with patients regularly to record their results and relay them to their GP.
