During Covid-19 local GPs were unable to visit care homes to offer their usual patient care and support so a ‘virtual ward’ system was developed to enable vital health care and communication to continue.
WCF oversaw the distribution of computer tablets installed with Teams to each care home and set up an NHS email for staff so that effective confidential communication could be maintained.
WCF then provided the necessary back up and advice to ensure care homes could access health care staff virtually.
